A Brief on How to Re-invent How You Lead
Thoughts on how to re-invent and transform how you lead.
Step Five in my last blog talked about engaging others as a form of collaborative leadership and gathering new ideas to grow your sales and develop your leader capacities.
By opening the doors for innovation, creativity, and the flow of ideas from stakeholders, (your sales managers or sales associates etc.), you next need to decide which ones to apply to your leadership and implement. Your leadership legacy will take a big jump if you do this.
Most managers are not leaders because they are unwilling to take innovative risks. They don’t want to risk rocking the boat or having something flop. You have a chance to improve the way things are done that will increase sales, profits and move your team to the edge of greatness because you listened to the ideas from your stakeholders and decided to move on them. Imagine all the new possibilities as you engage and ask for suggestions and new ideas! Be willing to be surprised!
“You can’t manage without knowledge. You can’t lead without imagination.” – Tribes – We want you to lead us by Seth Godin
Action speaks. Test the ideas. Do a small market test of an innovation that came from your “creativity team.” I did this constantly with a small segment of my sales team and we continually rocked the number one position, seldom dropping below third. So, transfer the “power” to run the test with your trusted high-performance team. Give them a fixed time frame to run the test. After you experience its success, expand it.
Now, take the results of your test and determine its viability as a new process for the entire company. You will be surprised when others begin to see you as a “transformative leader” …
What ways can you begin to be the go-to person for new ideas, more efficient ways of doing something, or creating exponential growth with your innovative team?
How do you intend to stand out and be counted! Let us know!
